Terms of Use
Last updated 24 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Mon Ami for using Mon Ami. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.
Agreeing to these terms
By downloading or using Mon Ami, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
Who can use Mon Ami
You must be 18 or over. By using Mon Ami, you confirm that you are. The partner you pair with must be 18 or over too.
What Mon Ami is
Mon Ami is a relationship coaching app for couples. It includes Ami, an AI coach you can chat with privately, guided talks you work through together, a daily question, question packs, games and date ideas.
What Ami is, and isn't
- Ami is an AI, not a person. Its replies are written by an AI model.
- Ami is a coach. It isn't a therapist, counsellor, doctor or lawyer. Mon Ami isn't therapy, medical care or a crisis service, and it doesn't diagnose or treat anything.
- AI can be wrong. Ami can misunderstand you, miss something important, or suggest something that doesn't fit. Use your own judgement, and get professional advice for anything to do with your health, safety, money or the law.
- Ami won't tell you whether to stay together or split up. That's always your decision.
- Ami can't call anyone or send help.
If you or anyone else is in danger, call your local emergency number now (911 in the US, 999 in the UK). Our Support page lists free, confidential helplines.
Your account
Mon Ami creates an anonymous account for you on your iPhone, with no email address or password. Keep your phone secure, because anyone who can open the app on it can see your account. You can lock the app with Face ID in Us › Privacy. If you delete the app or lose your phone, you may lose access to your account, and we may not be able to get it back for you.
Pairing with your partner
- You can pair with one partner at a time, using an invite code or link.
- Only pair with someone who wants to pair with you. Anyone with your code can use it to pair with you while you're waiting, so only share it with your partner.
- Once you pair, some of what you do is shared with your partner. The app shows what's shared, and our Privacy Policy explains it in full.
- Either of you can unpair at any time.
- The person you invite never has to pay to pair with you or to take part in a talk you start.
Mon Ami Plus
- Some features need Mon Ami Plus, a subscription. The app shows what's included before you subscribe.
- The App Store shows the price in your currency before you buy.
- If your plan starts with a free trial, it becomes a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Plus renews automatically at the end of each month or year unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Apple charges your Apple ID for the renewal within the 24 hours before it.
- To cancel, go to Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your iPhone, or tap Manage on the Plus card in the Us tab. You keep Plus until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Apple handles payments, renewals and refunds under its own terms. To ask for a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue refunds ourselves.
- Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel Plus.
- If we change the price, Apple will tell you before the change applies to you.
Using Mon Ami kindly
Mon Ami is meant to help two people feel closer and safer. Please don't use it to:
- abuse, harass, threaten or bully anyone, including your partner
- watch, control or pressure a partner, or make them show you anything that's private to them, like their chats with Ami
- pair with someone who hasn't agreed, or pretend to be someone else
- share anything illegal, or anyone's private information or intimate images without their consent
- try to get Ami to help you hurt or deceive someone
- hack, overload, copy or reverse-engineer Mon Ami, get around its limits, or get into anyone else's data
If you're worried that a partner is using Mon Ami, or anything else, to control you, the helplines on our Support page can help.
Your content
- What you write and share in Mon Ami belongs to you.
- You give us a free, worldwide licence to store, process and show your content, and to send it to the providers listed in our Privacy Policy, only so we can run Mon Ami for you and your partner. The licence ends when your content is deleted, except where our Privacy Policy says otherwise.
- What your partner shares belongs to them. Please don't share it outside Mon Ami without their permission.
- You can use Ami's replies however you like. They're written by AI, so check anything that matters.
Our app
Mon Ami, its design, Ami, and everything we wrote for it, like its questions, games and guides, belong to us or the people we licensed them from. We give you a personal licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, under these terms and Apple's rules. You can't pass that licence on to anyone else.
Apple
If you got Mon Ami from the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Mon Ami, its content or its support, or for any claim about it. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms as third-party beneficiaries.
Ending things
You can stop using Mon Ami at any time, and delete your account in Us › Privacy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts someone at risk, or where the law requires it. We may also change or stop parts of Mon Ami. If we close it altogether, we'll give you notice where we can.
Disclaimers
We work hard to make Mon Ami helpful and reliable, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”. We can't promise it will always work, be free of mistakes, or improve your relationship. As far as the law allows, we don't give any promises or warranties beyond those in these terms. If you're a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms don't affect.
Limits on our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Apart from that, and as far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for decisions you make based on what Ami says. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid for Mon Ami Plus in the 12 months before your claim.
Governing law
[To be completed before publishing: these terms are governed by the laws of [country or state], and the courts of [place] will hear any disputes.] If you live in the UK or the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies. If you keep using Mon Ami after that, you accept the new terms.
